The Court of Appeal in The Hague court has rejected a request to suspend the Dutch legislation for registration of Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs). The Privacy First Foundation had demanded this in an appeal. The foundation wanted to suspend the UBO legislation by means of summary proceedings because, in its opinion, it violates fundamental rights, EU basic principles and privacy rules. The preliminary relief judge previously rejected this claim and the Court of Appeal now confirms that decision.
A more transparent buying process with equal opportunities for buyers. This is what Minister Kajsa Ollongren of the Interior and Kingdom Relations wants. She wrote this in a letter to the House of Representatives. In addition to several other organizations, the KNB is discussing this subject with the ministry and is making a contribution where possible. Among other things, the minister wants to work with a bidding log so that sellers and prospective buyers can monitor the bidding process.Ollongren informs the House (pdf) that about 80 brokers are already participating in a pilot of a digital bidding log. She encourages this and she wants all brokers to work with a digital bidding log in due course.
